Freight Anatomy

Carrier surcharges as published, dated and kept, beside the fuel index each one follows.

Checked 02:00 UTC, 16 Oct 2026.

A freight charge is made of parts

Most parts are published by the carrier. The base rate is negotiated and is not published, so FR8 never shows a total charge.

FR8 records the published parts only: the value, its unit, what it applies to, the date it is valid from and the carrier's own wording. Each carrier's own current tariff always prevails.
