What we collect
- Email address, for sign-in links, the Monday Briefing and, on plans that include them, alerts.
- Watchlist: the carriers, corridors, lanes and fuel series you choose to follow.
- Usage counts: API calls per key per day, needed to apply plan limits. Keys are stored only as a hash.
- Sign-up page path: the page you signed up from, such as /fuel, and the date. It shows which pages bring sign-ups.
- Hashed network address, for rate limits only. Calls without a key and sign-in requests are counted against a keyed hash of the address, kept for 2 days.
- Payment records: the email, plan and receipt reference from Stripe when you pay.
Why, and the lawful basis
- To provide the service you sign up for (sign-in, the Briefing, alerts, the API and plan limits): performance of a contract with you.
- Rate limits and counting sign-ups by page: our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and understanding which pages are useful.
- Payment records: legal obligation, to keep tax records.
Cookies
N84 FR8 sets one cookie: an essential sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Typefaces are served from fr8.n84.dev itself.
The Briefing is a service email for account holders. There is no marketing email. Every Briefing and alert has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Processors and transfers
- Cloudflare hosts the site, the database and the stored records.
- Stripe takes payments. We receive the payment receipt, not your card details.
- Resend sends sign-in links, the Briefing and alerts.
These providers may process data in the United States. Where they do, the transfer relies on the UK-US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes. Hashed network addresses are kept for 2 days. Account data, the Watchlist and usage counts are kept while your account is open and deleted within 30 days of closing it. Payment records are kept for 6 years, as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or deletion, a copy in a portable format, or that we restrict or stop processing it. Email hello@n84.dev and we will reply within one month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
